Construction
Built for longevity, from foundation through final finish.
Understanding the capability
What is
Construction?
Construction is the coordinated process of turning architectural and engineering plans into a safe, functional and finished physical structure. It brings site preparation, structural work, building systems, finishes, quality control and project coordination together in sequence.
The work is approached as a coordinated site process: requirements are reviewed early, trades are sequenced around the build, and inspection remains part of the work through handover.
Scope of work
What the service
includes.
Pre-construction
- Site assessment and project requirements
- Drawing and constructability review
- Material planning, scheduling and cost coordination
- Site logistics and access planning
Site preparation and foundations
- Site clearing, layout, excavation and earthwork
- Temporary works and site access
- Footings, reinforcement, formwork and concrete
- Foundation waterproofing where required
Structural construction
- Columns, beams, slabs, walls and stairs
- Reinforcement and concrete coordination
- Structural sequencing with approved drawings
- Masonry and associated building work
Envelope and systems
- External walls, windows, roofing and exterior finishes
- Waterproofing and weather protection
- Coordination with electrical, plumbing and HVAC work
- Fire and safety-system coordination where applicable
Finishes and handover
- Plaster, flooring, ceilings, painting, doors and joinery
- Fixtures and final finishing
- Workmanship checks, material verification and testing
- Final inspection, snag correction and client handover
Service process
How the work
progresses.
Assessment
Review the site, requirements, drawings and practical construction conditions.
Preparation
Coordinate materials, schedule, access, sequencing and site setup.
Foundation and structure
Complete the work that transfers loads safely through the building.
Envelope and systems
Close the building and coordinate electrical, plumbing and HVAC requirements.
Finishes and inspection
Complete finishes while checking workmanship, details and corrections.
Completion
Carry out final review, address remaining items and hand over the completed work.
